“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
As 7 UPpers we meet weekly in small groups and/or as individuals on the internet, we choose to Praise Him and Worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
Jesus came and told his disciples, I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:18-20)

Gospel: Matthew 6:24-34
Jesus said to his disciples: “No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they? Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span? Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin. But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them. If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?’ All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.” (https://www.bible.com/videos/266/series)

Prayerful thoughts from Rev. Jack Vessels, SJ, The Rio Grande El Paso Padre
Reflections for MAR 2, 2014 8th of yr:
Is 49.14-15; 1Cor 4.1-5; MT 6.24-34
‘THE LORD HAS FORSAKEN ME! MY LORD HAS FORGOTTEN ME!’ CAN A MOTHER FORGET
HER INFANT? SHOULD SHE FORGET, I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!
‘O you of little faith! Don’t worry & say ‘what are we to eat? to drink? to wear?’ Your heavenly Father
knows you need them. Seek first the Kingdom of God & his justice, & all these thing will be given you.’
During the day: Don’t be lazy about your responsibilities, but don’t worry about them, either. Faith is utter dependence upon God, who’s given you them. They’re his, too. He knows how to do his part, if you do yours.
ABOUT PRAYER: Prayer knows how to rest quietly with one’s worries, ‘drains the dren’ (adrenalin) & ‘drains the dread’. Prayer separates the worries, lines them up, takes them one at a time, ‘God takes care of me, & I take care of others’–his work
